Dot and Dab, - also called drylining, is a quick and efficient method of interior wall construction. Plasterboard sheets are fixed directly onto masonry or blockwork wall using adhesive, without the need for wet plastering.

Here are some key points about dot and dab dry lining:

Process: Dot and dab - is applying small adhesive dots of plasterboard adhesive, to the back of the plasterboard. These adhesive dots are evenly spread forming a pattern. The plasterboard is pressed firmly against the wall, allowing the to bond with the wall. The adhesive holds the plasterboard in place.

Benefits: Dot and dab dry lining is a fast and method of installing plasterboards, popular in both commercial and residential construction.

The adhesive creates a strong bond between the plasterboard and the wall, providing stability and reducing the likelihood of future cracking or movement.  The air gap created between the wall and the plasterboard can improve thermal and acoustic insulation properties.

Suitability: Dot and dab dry lining is suitable for a range of wall types; Masonry walls, concrete walls, and block walls. It is good to use when working with uneven or irregular surfaces, the adhesive dots can help compensate for imperfections. Its not suitable for walls with excessive moisture or high humidity.

Finishing: When the plasterboard is securely fixed to the wall, the joints and any gaps are filled with jointing compound or plaster. Taping and skimming is then done to achieve a smooth finish.
